I had a good sleep.
Mommy and Daddy did not hear a peep.
It's a new day and I'm ready to go!
But Mommy and Daddy are so very slow.

Author Notes

Kim Crockett-Corson gathers much inspiration, laughter and joy from her preschool students and her delightfully lively daughter who sees the world with fresh, innocent eyes. She explains: "Does this sound familiar to anyone? An energetic and independent little girl is determined to get ready for school all by herself -- while her parents fumble to get her through the morning ritual with minimal chaos? It sure is familiar to me: the inspiration came from my experiences with my daughter, who almost always wantsto do everything by herself -- even if the result is incorrect, incomplete or worse yet...a downright fiasco. I wrote MY GOOD MORNING as a humorous story for all parents who have lived through these frenzied morning struggles." A native of Raleigh, North Carolina and an alumnus of N.C. State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Parks, Recreation & Tourism Management, Kim lives in Atlanta, GA.
