Publisher's Weekly Review

Readers are brought into a world of magical butterflies in this opening title in the Butterfly Wishes series. Not long after Addie and her family move from the city to Brook Forest, she chases her pet dog into the forest out back where she meets a talking butterfly named Sky Dance, who informs her that she's actually a magical Wishing Wing. "Have you ever felt really strong, like you can do anything you put your mind to?" Sky Dance asks Addie. "That's because of us!" After getting a crash course in the ins and outs of the butterflies' magic, Addie helps them figure out how to deal with an enchantment that has been cast on some of the newly hatched butterflies. It's a brisk and breezy magical adventure with an empowering message. Simultaneously available: Tiger Streak's Tale. Ages 7-10. Author's agent: Jamie Weiss Chilton, Andrea Brown Literary. Horn Book Review

Sisters Addie and Clara discover Wishing Wings, butterflies that talk and grant wishes, in their new yard in the country. Vibrant descriptions of the Wishing Wings' grove provide a colorful backdrop as the sisters learn to help the magical butterflies--and each other. Grayscale illustrations portray the sisters' emotions and the magic of this backyard world. An approachable first fantasy series for newly independent readers.
