Author Notes

Garret Romaine has been an avid rockhound, fossil hunter, and gold prospector for many years. He is a longtime journalist, columnist, and technical writer, and teaches technical writing and editing at Portland State University. He holds a degree in geology from the University of Oregon and a degree in geography from the University of Washington. Garret is the author of several popular book series on gold panning and rockhounding from FalconGuides, as well as Geology Lab for Kids.
